[Movie] The Hangover

Never been too big on those typical american comedies, specially those involving a trip to Las Vegas, but I must say The Hangover was the notable exception. While I'd never call it my favorite comedy ever, it was still very entertaining all the way 'till the end, and I laughed out loud in quite a few parts… and that's a merit in itself.
The plot here is not even that good or even new: a guy is having a bachelor party in Las Vegas with some of his best friends, things go crazy, they black out, then they have to figure out what happened the night before, and why the groom is missing. Not too much to it, but the situations themselves are so hilarious, you can't help but just enjoy the silly and stupid stuff going on all over the place.
WHAT TO LOVE
Is it weird that the best part of the movie was the credits at the end? Well, it was for me at least, as seeing exactly what happened to them during the time they blacked out was a funny reveal after everything was over. Plus, who couldn't love the "Leslie Chow" character, which was definitely the funniest element of the entire film, even shadowing the stars themselves. Definitely an Ace under the sleeve.
WHAT TO HATE
I really have nothing against Zach Galifianakis, I do think he's funny and whatnot, but his portrayal of "Alan" as some kind of mentally-challenged person, and then not really cause he's a "beautiful mind" kind of person, was at times annoying. Like, seeing him do his thing is funny the first two times, but seeing him do the same kind of stuff the entire movie, just gets exhausting. Also, it was all too clear they put Bradley Cooper in this film just because they needed a "pretty face" in the cast, as his comedic abilities are doubtful, to say the least.
WHAT TO IGNORE
The groom character felt totally needless and put there just to have a plot element where the other characters could move around. His entire ordeal was pointless: he put the mattress in the roof so someone could locate him, yet all this people working on the roof removing it didn't see him? Plus, they were looking for him, the main guys couldn't have guessed something like "Hey, a mattress on the roof, maybe that's where he is?" right when they saw this situation the first time? Probably not a plot-hole, but something that bothered me a bit.
THE VERDICT
This film was funny and I had fun watching it, something that, in the end, is all that matters when it comes to comedies. I wouldn't ever praise it, but if someone is looking for some quick laughs, I'd definitely recommend it.
